Advantages of self-repairing high-speed doors

In industrial and logistics environments, maintaining a production rate is essential to ensuring the efficiency and profitability of the business. Therefore, access points must facilitate the smooth flow of people, machinery and goods, while adequately organising spaces according to their specific needs. The intense activity in these environments can cause minor incidents, such as collisions with doors, which can lead to breakdowns and bring the production chain to a standstill. To prevent this, Ferroflex has developed a range of self-repairing high-speed doors.

These doors consist of a flexible roll-up curtain fitted into two side guides. In the event of an impact, for example with a forklift truck, the canvas moves out of the guides, allowing the vehicle to pass through. Thanks to an innovative system of side rails, when the door is rolled up, the curtain automatically re-enters the guides, restoring its original configuration and functionality. This self-repairing mechanism prevents operational downtime and unnecessary costs resulting from breakdowns.

Ferroflex offers different self-repairing models designed to meet the challenges of different industrial environments.

Versatility and tailored solutions

Self-repairing high-speed door: for high traffic flow. The most standard model of this type of door is suitable for areas with a high volume of people and machinery, such as loading and unloading areas. They offer a high level of airtightness and excellent wind resistance. There is also a version with a reduced lintel that allows the door to be installed in entrances with limited height.

Self-repairing high-speed door for cold storage areas: cold weather adaptation. This model is designed for cold storage areas down to -5 °C and includes some improvements such as an autonomous heating system with heating cable, stainless steel frame and moisture protection for the motor brake – a robust and reliable solution for low-temperature environments.

Self-repairing high-speed door for car parks: silent opening and closing. Designed for vehicle entrances and exits, its fast and silent operation makes it suitable for hotel and hospital car parks, among others. It is made of reinforced PVC fabric, for both safety and resistance to rain and wind.

Self-repairing high-speed door for supermarkets: space optimisation. Ideal for separating warehouses from retail areas in supermarkets and other retail establishments. This solution frees up useful side space and makes the most of the available work and storage area.

Self-repairing high-speed door with EI120 fire curtain: fire protection. The dual model combines the agility of a high-speed door with the protection of an EI120-certified fire curtain. The door includes two independent curtains in the integrated head: a self-repairing curtain for everyday use and another fire-resistant curtain that closes automatically in case the fire alarm is activated. The EI120 certification guarantees effective isolation from flames and smoke for a minimum of 120 minutes.

All models can be customised. The fabric can be screen-printed with logos, images, or signs, and windows of various shapes and sizes can be installed to enhance visibility and safety. The colour of the lacquer can also be adapted to integrate the door into the space aesthetics, and accessories such as sensors, push buttons, remote controls or UPS systems can be added to ensure it can be opened in the event of a power failure.
